وجهت المملكة العربية السعودية دعوة لوفد من صنعاء لاستكمال اللقاءات والنقاشات بناء على مبادرة الرياض التي أعلنت في مارس 2021.وأعلنت الخارجية السعودية على حسابها في منصة "إكس" مساء الخميس، أنه "امتداداً للمبادرة السعودية التي أعلنت في مارس 2021 م، واستكمالاً للقاءات والنقاشات التي أجراها الفريق السعودي برئاسة سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى اليمن محمد آل جابر وبمشاركة من الأشقاء في سلطنة عُمان في صنعاء خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 22 رمضان 1444هـ الموافق 8 إلى 13 أبريل 2023 م، واستمراراً لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية وسلطنة عُمان للتوصل لوقف إطلاق نار دائم وشامل في اليمن والتوصل لحل سياسي مستدام ومقبول من كافة الأطراف اليمنية، فقد وجهت المملكة دعوة لوفد من صنعاء لزيارة المملكة لاستكمال هذه اللقاءات والنقاشات".مسؤولون حوثيون يزورون الرياضيشار إلى أنه في وقت سابق، أوضح مصدران مطلعان أن مبعوثين من الحوثيين وسلطنة عمان سيصلون إلى المملكة، مساء الخميس، لمحاولة التفاوض على وقف دائم لإطلاق النار.كما أضاف المصدران، وهما على صلة بالمحادثات، أن المسؤولين الحوثيين سيسافرون إلى الرياض مع الوسطاء العمانيين
